Operations Manager

Based: Reading – lovely, modern, bright offices in central Reading – 5 min stroll from station RG1 2DP

Hours: 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: £32,000 – £35,000

  • Are you an operations manager with experience in small, fast-growing companies?
  • Thrive in a fast-moving operation? We’ll be relying on your expertise to ensure the operations and processes run as smoothly as possible?
  • An awesome communicator and natural leader of both remote and office-based teams?
  • And you love exploring and implementing new systems, processes and tech?

Final question: you’re looking for a new career opportunity where your operations management expertise will really make a difference to people?

We’re very proud to be supporting this multi-award winning company.

One part of their business is making a significant impact advising major corporates such as British Airways, Waitrose and giffgaff to ensure they are striving towards providing a world-class deaf customer experience.

The other part of the business provides Sign Language Interpreters for university students across the UK

Where do you fit in as the new Operations Manager?

As the company’s new – and first – Ops Manager, you are playing a pivotal role in supporting the CEO and Founder. The aim for 2020 and beyond is to scale the company and ultimately be able to make a bigger difference to the deaf community across the UK. No shoes to fill so if that excites you, fantastic!

Until now the CEO has been the one driving everything from business development and marketing to processes and nurturing the team. To meet the Company’s mission and vision, we need your operations skills to take over everything and anything ops-based, allowing the CEO to develop the business further.

Ultimately you will become the glue between the business development and the delivery. You’ll liaise with corporate clients, nurture the home-based team of two and lead a new office-based team to be hired in Q2 this year.

To do well in this role, we’d like to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Experience as an Operations Manager
  • A proven ability to start and finish projects
  • You love developing and successfully implementing effective systems and processes
  • You’re a people person. The corporate clients will love speaking with you as will the universities they work with!
  • Excited to be the first Ops Manager
  • Able to get to the office in Reading, 5 min stroll from the station, every day 9am-5pm (there’s no car parking available)
  • Thrive in an environment where the CEO is ambitious and passionate. After all, she’s grown the business for the past 13 years and this is an exciting (and challenging) new scale-up phase.
